Ranma 1/2 is a comedy, full of romance and martial arts action, where a disturbing number
of the main characters have been cursed with shape-shifting abilities that are triggered by cold water. Ranma himself turns
into a girl, whereas his friends and rivals mutate into ducks, cats, pigs; even Ranma's father becomes a panda when doused.
I should mention that everyone also happens to be a martial artist of some sort, so much of the comedy surrounds the various
crushes and combats between all the plentiful characters.

Comments: Ranma is both a manga and an anime series,
but I've only read the manga. Takahashi's story about sex-changing
Ranma and his unbelievable escapades are a humorous read with endearing characters. New characters are
introduced on a regular basis, and Ranma never repeats things twice. The storyline is original, and engaging.
The sub-plot about Ranma and his third fiancee Akane and their strained relationship keeps the reader wondering if they're
ever going to get to admit how they feel to each other! It definetly made me bash my head at their social ineptness with each
other. Ranma 1/2 is a funny read with loveable characters, that almost everyone will find
something to like about it.

Red River
Youri, a pretty Japanese girl who just passed a college entrance exam, is ecstatic after her first kiss with
her handsome childhood-friend-turned-boyfriend, Himuro. Meanwhile, she starts to notice that water becomes agitated whenever
she goes near it! One night, hands appear out of a puddle on the street and drag her into the water. She emerges from the
water to find that she has been transported to an ancient village somewhere in the Middle East. She is then captured by armed
troops and taken to the queen's palace.
Youri learns that the queen had her kidnapped so she could offer her blood
as part of a ritual that will kill five princes from other members that are in competition to inherit the kingdom. Youri manages
to escape the palace and runs into a young man in the forest who saves her from her pursuers. This good-looking youth turns
out to be Prince Kail, one of the five princes the queen wants to kill. He takes Youri home and puts her under his protection
inside his palace...

Red River is good, a bit raunchy at points, and the
main character is a bit too weak and squealy girly for me at times. The story is inventive and good, but it really leaves
you wondering cuz the mc has to make a choice at some time and she sure will want both options.

Read or Die
Like a book has a cover and the back of it, the world also has a hidden side. The people there battle in a

Gah, what to say about a masterpiece like this? Both the anime and the manga (which stick pretty close together) are a total
joy to read. There's a main plot, there's subplots aplenty, there's romance, there's humor, angst, I could go on. You will
fall in love with the characters, who have faults aplenty and are totally believable. To make it short, just read it. You
won't be disappointed.

I Love Rurouni Kenshin, right now its my favorite series,
I have all the anime and all the books Viz had put out so far. The characters are so funny and the humor breaks up any too
serious moments, the fights are awesome, u must suspend all disbelief by third way through the series though because there
are somethings that are supposed to ppl, but ppl don't end up looking like that... Overall a really good series.
